Release Waves Are Bowing Out: Make Way for Continuous Innovation

For years, Dynamics 365 users have grown accustomed to following Microsoft’s Release Waves to discover major upcoming features. However, the recently unveiled AI roadmap marks a significant shift: Microsoft is gradually moving away from this model in favor of a much more continuous delivery of innovations, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, Copilot, and intelligent agents.

For businesses, this means that new features will arrive more regularly, sometimes even without waiting for the two major annual release cycles we’ve grown accustomed to. Now more than ever, it’s essential to stay on top of platform updates to quickly identify opportunities for improvement and automation that can create value for your organization.

  • Please note that for Business Central: Microsoft is discontinuing Release Plans and the Release Waves communication model, but Business Central continues to evolve at the same pace—namely, two major updates per year (April and October).

A Single Gateway to Microsoft AI

Microsoft is advancing its vision of a unified AI experience as Copilot evolves into what increasingly resembles a true “super app.” Rather than multiplying tools, assistants, and access points, the goal is to centralize all interactions into a single experience capable of understanding your work context, your business data, and the applications you use every day.

For users of Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Fabric, this convergence heralds a new way of working: less switching between systems, more contextual assistance, and smoother collaboration between you, Copilot, and intelligent agents. The coming years will likely not be marked by the arrival of a new tool, but by the gradual integration of artificial intelligence into the very core of the applications we already use.

What if your next Business Central tests could run almost entirely on their own?

Many organizations still spend several hours manually repeating the same validation tests after every ERP update. However, Business Central includes a feature that allows you to record and automatically replay complete test scenarios. Although still underutilized, Page Scripting offers a new way to document processes, simplify testing, and build confidence during deployments.

During our webinar, we show you this feature in action and discuss the concrete benefits it can bring to your teams.
